Established in 1983 on Zhongshan Road in Lukang, Guo Xian Zhang Bakery was founded by Guo Xianzhang, who began his journey as an apprentice at a traditional pastry shop in Taichung during his middle school years. His mentor, influenced by Japanese education, instilled in him the values of integrity and honesty, which became the foundation of his craft.

    The outer layer resembles the delicate crust of a mung bean pastry, with a fragrant, multi-layered texture, especially the crispy bottom. The filling is similar to mung bean or almond cake, mildly sweet, and complemented by pork floss for a rich, balanced taste.
  • Yuan Yang Pastry – $190
    Features a well-layered crust with a slightly crunchy bottom and a buttery aroma. The filling is evenly blended, with a salted egg yolk at the center—mildly salty, neither too dry nor overly moist. The mochi layer is thin yet stretchy, while the red bean paste is smooth and subtly sweet (about 30-40% sweetness). The pork floss is slightly sweet and moist, adding a unique, textured bite.
